These terms govern your use of the Embercut app. By using the app you agree to them.
What Embercut is (and isn't)
Embercut is a calorie- and fitness-tracking tool for planning finite, aggressive-but-bounded calorie deficits. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Calorie targets never go below built-in safety floors, and cycles are capped in length, but only you and your healthcare professional can judge what's safe for you. Do not use aggressive deficits if you are under 18, pregnant or nursing, have or have had an eating disorder, or have a medical condition affected by diet — talk to a professional first.
Your account
The core app works without an account. An account (email, Apple, or Google) is required for cloud backup and AI features. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe. You can delete your account by emailing us.
Embercut Premium
- Premium is an auto-renewable subscription: $4.99/month or $34.99/year, with a 3-day free trial where offered. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the App Store before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms.
- AI features have a fair-use daily limit (currently 15 requests/day). AI estimates are approximations — always review them.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service, and don't use the AI features to process content you have no right to. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.
Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the app's estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted in the app. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
